Philip Kay is licensed in Colorado and
Georgia and focuses his practice on complex civil
litigation. Philip represents individuals and business
entities in a broad range of litigation, from commercial
disputes and business litigation to claims involving
professional malpractice and serious bodily injury.
Philip practices in state and federal court and has
served as lead counsel at both the trial and appellate
levels.
Philip graduated with distinction from the Virginia
Military Institute where he was named Distinguished
Military Graduate. He served as an officer in the U.S.
Army Reserve (XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North
Carolina) for eight years, including an active duty tour
during the Persian Gulf War. He graduated cum laude from
the University of Georgia School of Law.
Philip is active in the American Bar Association and
serves on the ABA Advisory Panel. He was national
co-editor of the ABA’s publication “Consumer Class
Actions: A Fifty State Survey,” and recently authored
“Class Action Certification Under C.R.C.P. 23:
Procedural and Evidentiary Considerations” for The
Colorado Lawyer. He also authored “Opening Statements
and Closing Arguments: A Colorado Primer” for the Denver
City Attorney’s Office.
Philip is licensed to practice before all Colorado and
Georgia state courts as well as the United States
District Courts for the District of Colorado and the
Northern District of Georgia.
