Personal Injury & Wrongful Death

Serious and catastrophic injury cases change the course of an injured person’s life. The lawyers of Ogborn Mihm understand that the impact of those injuries can spread to every facet of the victim’s life, as well as the lives of their loved ones. Handling these cases, which may include traumatic brain injuries, burn injuries from fire or electrocution, spinal injuries and paralysis, and amputations, requires an individualized approach. We take the time to understand who the injured person was, is, and will be. In the case of wrongful death, we help family members understand their rights and guide them through the process of making a claim, including litigation when needed.

Our trial attorneys have represented hundreds of clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases, including significant product liability cases. We have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars to compensate our clients for their injuries, impairments, and losses. We know that compensation after an injury is a critical consideration, but it is one of numerous other concerns in the aftermath of serious injuries. Let us share how the compassionate and dedicated personal injury attorneys at Ogborn Mihm can help you and your family in your serious personal injury, product liability, or wrongful death case.

Quality of life means more to us than simply helping clients to secure financial settlements. We know that compensation after an injury is a critical consideration, but it is one of numerous other concerns in the aftermath of serious injuries. So, our service to each client goes above and beyond just resolving the legal case. For example, we routinely help resolve medical billing issues that arise even after a case is over; we assist with health insurance denials of necessary medical care; we ensure public benefits are preserved when appropriate, and we ensure that appropriate trusts and/or sound financial plans are set-up so that settlement funds last. We believe it is our duty to aid in the planning for life after a serious injury, and we never cut corners in helping each person we represent secure the greatest possible future.

Managing the Full Picture of Harms and Losses

Serious injuries can be devastating, not only to the injured person, but to their entire family. Often the consequences are not limited to physical pain and financial loss.  Every catastrophically injured client has different legal, medical, personal, and financial needs, and Ogborn Mihm has experience in identifying and helping clients address those needs.  We work with life care planners, vocational rehabilitationists, and economists to paint the entire picture of past and future physical injuries, permanent impairments, and lost income. We also have experience bringing claims on behalf of the injured person’s spouse in the form of loss of consortium claims.

How We Can Help

We have extensive experience representing individuals who have been seriously and catastrophically injured. We take only the most significant cases because we understand the time and attention required to handle these cases. We monitor medical care and work with medical treaters to assess future medical needs. We assist clients with addressing personal and workers compensation insurance issues, as well as liens and subrogation interests. Ogborn Mihm takes the time to learn about and tell each client’s story. In doing so, we ensure our clients receive the individualized attention they need and the legal representation required to recover as much as possible on their behalf.
