Many of us are forced to take medication on a daily basis. Many of us have been forced to have a medical device put into our bodies as a part of surgery. Most of us do not have the opportunity to independently research whether the drugs or products that we put into our bodies are safe. We rely upon the FDA and other governing bodies to test the drugs and products that we consume to make sure they are safe. Unfortunately, due to various factors, some drugs and products make it to the stores despite the fact that they can cause serious harm to consumers. Who is responsible when a drug or medical product causes serious complications, even death, under these circumstances?

If a manufacturer, distributor or retailer of a defective product makes it available for public use or consumption, it is responsible for injuries that those products cause. Under product liability laws, you have the right to seek compensation for your injuries, medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering inflicted upon you by a defective product. Currently, claims are pending against manufacturers for the following major drugs and medical products, however this list is not exclusive.
